When we put scarves on the blog content calendar last month, we had no way of knowing what perfect timing this particular blog would end up being! With all this snow in recent weeks in Nashville, and only frigid temperatures on the horizon, it couldn’t be a better time to talk about our favorite winter accessories.

Scarves are one of the most versatile accessories for the winter months. With every outfit, a scarf takes on a different personality and style. You might not think of a scarf as being a staple piece in your wardrobe…. But you should!

Winter Styling Tips: Scarves

We suggest everyone have their go-to winter scarves like a great infinity wool scarf for those frigid days. They keep you warm and toasty, and are easy to take off and stash in your purse once inside. Another favorite of ours is a light weight oversized scarf. You have so many options with these. Use it to bundle up and keep your neck warm in the winter. Then leave it loose and playful with a tank for the spring. And of course, when choosing your scarves, be sure to think through color, style, and pattern to ensure you have a good variety.

In this particular look, we’ve layered a favorite chambray shirt under a plaid shirt jacket. Pair with a distressed hem black jean and booties. And add a beautiful cable cashmere scarf for the perfect mixture of trendy and classic!

We all love a soft and cozy turtleneck sweater for winter…. When choosing a scarf to wear, be sure to focus on an oversized scarf or blanket scarf. The idea is to make sure that the scarf covers the turtleneck. In other words, we don’t want to see both the scarf and the turtleneck at the same time.
