Big thanks to Jodi Rall (organizer of Belk’s Charity Sale and writer of Brentwood Home Page’s “In the Bubble” column) for today’s post!! I always try to do a post and make sure to share with all of my clients about Belk’s Charity Sale (that they have twice a year). This time around, I asked Jodi if she would share with you all a little more in depth info about the Charity Sale.
Jodi & I at a recent Belk event
I became involved with the Belk Charity Sale over 7 years ago while working with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. The store manager at the time asked me to participate in the sale and then asked, “Would you want to organize the event?” And so it began…
Now 7 years later I’m proud that Belk continues to support a program that is a major win for non profits in our community, and a win for their customers too.
Here are the basics of the sale: Any non profit can participate, there are United Way agencies, churches, mission groups, civic organizations and schools who all take part in the sale. The groups then sell the $5 tickets to attend the closed sale, this year the sale happens on Saturday, May 3rd from 6-10 a.m. The non-profit keeps the $5 and what is great about the ticket, you can use it to get $5 off a purchase. As mentioned earlier, I call this a win/win.
The morning of the sale organizations will be selling tickets at the entrances of Belk. Inside you will find unbelievable savings on brands that never go on sale. Example: Michael Kors Handbags are going to be 25% off. And shoes, where do I begin about the amazing shoes on sale?
Here is another benefit about Charity Sale; Belk holds a pre sale one week prior to the event. So, you can’t shop on the morning of May 3rd for whatever reason. You don’t have to! Beginning on Sunday, April 27th customers can see any Belk associate and put items away for pre sale. If you don’t have a ticket, the associate will simply sell you one (all money from tickets associates sell is split between groups who work day of sale) and then later in the week the items you put on hold will be rung up with all the Charity Day discounts. The store already knows what items are going to be on sale and pretty much the entire store is going to be at least 20% off.
My friends, family and my favorite stylist, Katie Rushton of course, know the two times Charity Sale is held each year is when I do the majority of my shopping.
Spring brings graduations, Mother’s Day and many more events that you may need a gift or a special outfit for. Why not take advantage of Charity Sale at Belk? Shopping for a great cause is cause enough to head on down to Cool Springs Galleria and let the fun begin!
