Nashville Personal Stylists Pick 3: Must Have Shoes For Winter
Winter shoes for the most part need to be functional. They are meant to be worn in cold weather and all of the elements… Rain, snow, ice… So that is why all three stylists of course have booties on their list! The great news is that there are countless booties out there to be had that are both functional and oh so stylish. And many companies are now even making many of their booties water resistant or waterproof as well!
Here in the Southeast, we are also lucky to have a fair amount of milder weather mixed in with the frigid. Plus sometimes, you just want to wear those sneakers, mules, loafers, and pumps… So we of course have a few of those mixed in as well!
Let’s get started and see what our stylists are saying are their must have shoes for this winter!
Katie’s Go To Shoes For Winter
You guys know I love a sneaker, and the winter is no exception. I love to wear my sneakers with jeans and a sweater or blazer during the winter months. If you have one pair of sneakers, it should be a white or neutral pair – one that goes with anything! P448 is one of my favorite sneaker brands. Not only are they really beautiful, but they are also always on point and extremely comfortable. I absolutely love this pair by P448 for a neutral winter sneaker. While it is mostly white, the taupe detailing warms it up for the season.
I also cannot live without a lug sole Chelsea boot this time of year… Specifically, a black one. And preferably one that is waterproof for those cold, rainy days we love so much here in Nashville (hah hah). This pair by Sam Edelman is really good! If you are looking for a color other than black for this winter, this one does come in ivory and a handful of shades in the tan and brown families as well!

I reach for my sock booties all.the.time through the fall and winter. I love to pair them with jeans and a sweater for a casual look during the day… But my favorite way to wear them is with a dress. A skirt and a top would also be perfect for an elevated look! I love a pair of sock booties in a tan or cognac colorway for this time of year – this pair is fabulous! Because it’s on sale, it is a lot of bang for your buck!
Dana’s Pick 3: Must Have Shoes For Winter
I reach for my tall heeled boots over and over during the winter months. They are the perfect way to stay warm and stylish all at once. This block heel croc embossed tall boot it so gorgeous… The olive green is a wonderful neutral color that works really well with the hues of the season. But this boot also comes in dark brown, whiskey, snakeskin, ivory, and black!

I also love to have a dressy pair of black mules with a slight heel to pull out when I am going classic or dressy. This style of shoe pairs with everything from jeans to pants to dresses. I love this pair of kitten heel mules with the touch of gold chain embellishment that is so on trend this season!
Black Kitten Heel Embellished Mules
And for those cold winter days, a lug sole boot is a must. I love this particular ivory pair. Ivory booties are so versatile and go with more than you might think… Black, winter white, olive green, blues, red, pink… They are a neutral and should be treated as such! So go for it and buy some ivory boots. You will be surprised how often you reach for them!
Katey’s Must Have Shoes For The Winter Season
I have always loved a good animal print. In fact, it’s one of my favorite neutrals. Animal print goes with almost any color in the rest of your look… Just keep the rest of your look fairly simple as it relates to patterns, and you are good to go. For me, an animal print shoe of some kind is a must in a winter wardrobe. That could be a pump, bootie, or flat. My favorite is an animal print flat or loafer for this time of year. Trust me ladies, you will wear it way more than you think you will!
Similar to Katie, a neutral sneaker is a must for me on those busy days of running around (when it isn’t frigid outside). I love to throw on a comfortable BUT cute pair of sneakers with jeans and a sweater, or leggings and an oversized sweater. Lucky for us, there is literally no limit to the cute sneakers to choose from. This pair by Nike is one of my current favorites. The black and chestnut detailing incorporate two of the season’s most important colors!
I am of course a big fan of booties this time of year. For me, it is a dressier bootie. A bootie with a block heel and shaft that comes up well above the ankle is the perfect mixture of functional but elevated. Even when I am going fairly casual with a pair of jeans and a sweater, I love to have a bootie with some heel on it to elevate my look. This bootie is so beautiful – I love the rich brown saddle colorway and wooden block heel for winter.
