Celebrating the New Year in Style
Goodbye 2020, hello 2021! 2020 has been challenging to say the least, so we, like everyone else, are full of hope for a fresh start on January 1. What do y’all have planned for New Years Eve and Day? Our stylists are sharing what they are looking forward to for the upcoming festivities.
Celebrating the New Year in Style with Katie
I’m not 100% what our New Year’s plans will look like just yet. However, my husband and I watched “The Holiday” this weekend (one of my all time favorite Christmas movies). The ending….ahhh. Gets me every time! And it made me think….we should get dressed up, put together a nice dinner, turn some fabulous music on, and have a fun night in on New Year’s Eve – just the three of us! I think he was up for it, so that is what I’m going to push for this year!
For my look, I’m going with a black dress. Something simple and not too expensive, but one that will be fun for the night. I have my eye on two different options and am having trouble choosing!

New Year’s Eve with Katey Preston
We’re in the phase of life where our kids want to stay up until midnight on New Year’s Eve, and they want to celebrate with us. Gone are the days of a babysitter tucking them in while we have a fancy dinner party with our friends – those days will come back in a few years when our kids are teenagers and want to ring in the New Year with friends of their own. So for now, we’ll embrace these in between years. In a typical year, we might do a family party – our best friends with their families – where the kids can have their party in the basement while we enjoy a nice dinner – and then we all come to celebrate with a midnight dance party and confetti.
But as nothing this year is typical, we’re looking at a quiet celebration at home to welcome 2021 with open arms. Movie marathons, hot chocolate bombs, and game night wars are in our future as we look forward to a new year with hopes of good health and better days ahead.

New Year’s Day with Emily
This year, we will be celebrating the New Year with a New Year’s Day brunch. We’ll be toasting in 2021 with mimosas, homemade quiche, and some Loveless chicken biscuits! We are having a few close friends to join us to celebrate hope for what’s to come. I’m going casual, edgy glam with a simple sweater with a hint of embellishment for good measure, rhinestone earrings, faux leather leggings, and combat boots.

Celebrating the New Year in Style with Jenny
We have always stayed home on NYE to spend it with our daughter. As a kid I can remember my dad taking me outside at midnight to bang on pots and pans. We carry on that tradition with our girl and usually have a friend or two of hers with us. I don’t know about y’all, but after a week full of Christmas goodies I love wearing elevated lounge wear. This jumpsuit can easily be dressed up or down, and I am into it – and the tassel gives it a little extra something. Add in this fun tinsel headband with a ponytail, and comfortable – but of course fabulous- sneaker! And the icing on the cake? These AMAZING Mignonne Gavigan Prosecco bottle beaded stunners – they are definitely a splurge, but something you will be pulling out to wear year after year. They will literally go with everything!
And I had to share some cute napkins from one of my favorite party stores, Emily McCarthy.
