Meet Our New Stylist, Emily Goodin
Almost a month ago, we shared some very exciting news with you guys. We welcomed the lovely Katey Preston to our Effortless Style team. We are back at it again! Please join us in welcoming our newest Nashville Stylist, Emily Goodin! We are so excited to have Emily join our team! We wanted to share more about Emily with you all, so we asked her to answer a few fun questions that would give you guys more insight into who she is and why we are excited to have her on the Effortless Style team!
How did you get started in helping clients find their personal style?
I got started when I opened a store called Boutique Couture. Along with styling my store’s clients, I began styling photo shoots as well. Things evolved from there with referrals and other fashion opportunities such as Style Reporter for Hits 96 radio and News Channel 9 in Chattanooga.
What is your educational background?
I have a degree in Business with a focus in Marketing from Tennessee Technological University.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as “classic with an edge.”
Who are your favorite designers?
Honestly, I’m not very focused on labels. I think style isn’t about what’s on the tag…it’s how you wear the clothes. BUT, if I had to pick off the top of my head, I always enjoy following Michael Kors and Rachel Zoe.
What is a common mistake many women make when it comes to style?
Many women try to be too matchy when they get dressed. Try changing it up by putting unique color combinations together or mixing a blazer with a t-shirt and jeans. Also, people tend to go overboard with accessories with a statement outfit. Choose one statement piece every day. It could be a necklace or it could be a unique dress.
What is the most rewarding part of your line of work?
The most rewarding part of my line of work is making people realize their confidence! When someone feels good in their clothes, their overall demeanor changes! They stand taller, they smile more…and they have more fun!
What is your fashion pet peeve?
My fashion pet peeve is wearing a trend that doesn’t fit your body type.
What’s the one item of clothing every woman should own?
The one item that every girl needs is a “go to” dress. For me, it’s a little black dress!
