Fall Travel Capsule Wardrobe: How to Wear
Fall travel season is in full swing! Between Fall Break and Thanksgiving, there are lots of opportunities to take some trips and take in all the fall vibes. We have helped lots of clients prep for their fall travel, and in particular, to Europe. Because of that, we decided to create our Fall Travel Capsule: Europe Edition and released it to you guys a few weeks ago. In case you missed this capsule, you can view it here. And today, we are going to get more detailed on how to wear our Fall Travel Capsule Wardrobe…. And how to use pieces from your very own closet to do it!
As you guys know, we design our capsules to be for the most part timeless (with a few pieces that nod to current trends), which means they are mostly made of staple wardrobe pieces that many of us probably already own in some form or fashion. To that end, Katie and SEB decided on a whim to have a little fun last week…. And went into their closets to see if they could indeed create some looks from our Fall Travel Capsule with their own pieces.
And guess what guys? Between the two of them, they created 13 looks, and honestly could have put together countless more. But they wanted to go through this exercise in order to show you guys how to use our travel capsule as a springboard to get creative in your own closet… Whether you have fall travel planned or not! So, let’s take a look at how to wear our Fall Travel Capsule Wardrobe!
Elevated Casual Looks With Our Fall Travel capsule Wardrobe
Here are a handful of elevated casual looks from our Fall Travel Capsule Wardrobe that Katie and SEB created from the items in their closet! Katie did use her own barrel jeans in her jean looks… But if you don’t own barrel jeans, just sub for your favorite straight leg jeans! We recommend non-distressed… We aren’t seeing a lot of distressed jeans this season!
Instead of the wide leg pants in the capsule, Katie pulled her olive green barrel pants out to recreate this look. You can use any color pant here to flows cohesively with the rest of your looks!
Denim Jacket + Crewneck Sweater + Wide Leg Pant Look
FYI, this trench coat is from Target, is under $40, and is SO GOOD! This would be a great one to snag if you are wanting to add this classic staple to your fall wardrobe.
Trench Coat + Neutral Cardigan + Barrel Jean Look
There is something about a stripe pattern in a fall look…
Striped Tee + Black Pant + Denim Jacket Look
SEB grabbed her olive green midi tank dress from her closet to recreate this look!
Denim Jacket + Midi Dress Look
SEB utilized her favorite black puff long sleeve tee for this look rather than the long sleeve polo. Her denim jacket and pants are also several years old!

On The Dressier Side Of Our Fall Travel Capsule Collection
And now, let’s look at some dressier looks that Katie and SEB came up with in their closets! Katie doesn’t have a black midi skirt, so she actually layered her striped tee shirt over her black midi dress!
Leather Jacket + Striped Tee + Midi Skirt
SEB used her lighter olive green barrel pants, an open stitch sweater from last year, and an oversized leather jacket to recreate this look. If you don’t have an open stitch sweater, any neutral sweater will do – crewneck, mockneck, or turtleneck will work nicely!
Bomber Jacket + Open Stitch Sweater + Wide Leg Pant
SEB’s trench coat is via Mango from two years ago. That’s the thing about a trench coat… It doesn’t go out of style!
Trench Coat + Printed Blouse + Wide Leg Pant Look

A Few More Looks On The Dressy Side
You don’t have to buy the dark wash jeans in this capsule (though they are some of our favorites)… Just sub in your favorite non-distressed dark wash jeans to recreate this look. SEB utilized her favorite leather lady jacket via JCrew from a few years ago…. As well as the printed blouse from one of our Fall Capsules several years ago that she still wears all the time!
Leather Jacket + Printed Blouse + Dark Wash Jean Look
There’s that leather lady jacket again! Any black jacket on the dressier side would work for this look!
Leather Jacket + Satin Tank + Wide Leg Pant Look
Though the dress Katie is wearing looks identical to the one in the capsule, it actually isn’t the same one! Katie is wearing one of her favorite tank midi dresses from a few years ago for this look. The dress doesn’t need to be brown… It can be black, red, ivory, green… As long as it flows with what you’re throwing in your suitcase.
