One of the hottest trends for fall is actually a concept that has been around forever – PLAID. Plaid is trending big! We are seeing the obvious plaid pieces, like blazers, ponchos, and tops… But also lots more plaid in more unlikely pieces like trousers and skirts! Plaid is a really fabulous pattern to style for fall and winter. You can of course let your plaid piece do the talking in your look by styling it with something solid… But mixing plaid with another pattern like stripes is so fun as well. These Veronica Beard pants are a great way to add some fall plaid into your work wardrobe! You can pair them with a simple black sweater or black blazer for a chic work look to take you through the season.
A plaid skirt is another fun way to add some of fall’s biggest print into your wardrobe. This fun skirt from Mango is subtle – I love the neutral tones. Pair this skirt with an oversized ivory sweater and some great fall boots, and you are ready to go!
I styled the plaid skirt above for you guys. Like I mentioned before, I love the idea of this great skirt paired with a chunky sweater of some kind. The one I’ve paired it with has some fun button detailing, and I love the collar! Throw on a great boot and some chunky good earrings, and you are fall chic and ready to go!

A Few Of Katey’s Plaid Faves
As you guys know, I love a classic look. And this piece gives off classic fall Ralph Lauren vibes to me, so naturally it caught my eye right away. I love this poncho as a statement piece when you need to be outside most of the day… And styled just how the model has it here is on point!
A dickey blazer is incredibly versatile for fall and winter. In this particular one, the sweater insert is removable via zipper. This piece is a really good looking dupe of a designer brand…. You can wear this blazer with the sweater insert, or style the blazer on it’s own with a tank, tee, blouse, white button-up shirt, or crewneck sweater of your choosing.

Let’s style the plaid dickey blazer above. For this look, I’m styling it with the sweater insert. Tuck the insert into the jeans. That said, you just as easily put a white blouse or tee under the blazer instead!
