How to Get Dressed for Work Again!
Offices are beginning to open back up after over a year of being shut down or operating on modified schedules…. Though it’s exciting to get back to “normal” as it relates to work, it takes some planning. Some of us need to shift daily schedules, line up child care, plan ahead on household chores like grocery shopping, and you guessed it, remember how to get dressed for work again!
We have had some fun helping clients shop in recent weeks for their return to the office and work travel – and we ourselves have enjoyed getting back to the rewarding business of working with clients in person and in stores! Katie and Katey are sharing some of their tips for getting back into the swing of work “in the office.” They are also sharing a few fun looks to give you some ideas as you transition from work at home wear to business casual again!
How to Get Dressed for Work Again
Getting back to work (in the office) can be quite hard after staying at home for a whole year! Hence why I LOVE the matching sets that are currently hot right now – and why I also love monochromatic looks! Matching sets make getting dressed so easy on those mornings you are scrambling to try and get back into the routine.
I have a couple of clients who work in banking and law office settings. For those gals that have to dress up, I am loving this fresh take on a suit! Another thing I recommend when getting back into your routine is a good tote bag…. a bag big enough to carry ALL. THE. THINGS! A high quality large tote bag is perfect for returning to the office. We all need that bag that holds our laptop, juice, notebook, etc.

We discovered this washable silk line recently. There are a handful of top options that can go with the skirt depending on what your preferences are. We love the tank with the skirt – it is perfect for the office. A cream or white blazer over this look would be fabulous if you get chilly in the AC. You can also mix and match each of these pieces with other things in your closet. Another benefit of matching sets! So many different looks for so many different occasions!

I have been advising clients to ease back into this getting dressed for work thing by keeping basic, classic pieces on hand. Pieces that can mix and match and be jazzed up with a little jewelry. Remember to pull comfortable clothing – because we’ve been ultra comfortable for over a year now, right?! A white blazer is a great piece to have on hand. Remember air conditioned offices can be chilly. And you want to be able to layer so you can enjoy a walk outside at lunch to stay sane!
