How To Wear Wide Leg Jeans
Wide leg jeans continue to trend… Which means there are many different styles to choose from. We often hear our clients say that they can’t pull off a wide leg jean for this reason or that. But ladies, there is a wide leg jean to facilitate every size, height, age, and style embracing this trend! We also often hear clients ask HOW to style a pair of wide leg jeans. Today, our stylists are going to share some fun styled looks to help with the question we get so often… How to wear wide leg jeans??
How To Wear Wide Leg Jeans
Many might think they can’t “pull off” wide leg jeans, especially if they aren’t on the tall side. On the contrary, there is a good style option out there this season for every age, shape, height, size, and style preference! A wide leg jean hem can vary in width… You can purchase a pair with just the slightest of flares…. Or you can go for what some of us old timers might describe as a bell bottom hem. Or anything in between! Your body type and height and the shoe you prefer to wear will all play into which wide leg jean is right for you… And beyond that, how to style it.
One of our favorite tips on styling wide leg jeans and pants is to pair them with something that is more fitted on top (i.e. a fitted blouse, a tucked in tee shirt, or a bodysuit). Pairing wide leg bottoms with something more fitted on top creates a more balanced and polished look. A shorter top or cropped top can also be a good option if the wide leg jeans are high waisted!
With that, let’s take a look at how to wear wide leg jeans. Our stylists have curated looks with some of their favorite pairs of wide leg jeans… And will be sharing some tips and tricks along the way!
Katie’s Look
I spotted these high rise relaxed cuffed wide leg jeans a few weeks ago at Abercrombie and immediately loved them! The cuffed hem is a really fun take on the wide leg jean trend. The width of the hemline, though technically a wide leg, is fairly subtle on this pair of wide leg jeans. Because of that, it is versatile across different body types and heights! If you aren’t super tall and want to wear a sneaker with your wide leg jeans, consider a stacked or platform sneaker. Pair this pair of wide leg jeans with a crisp white button-up shirt, a belt with silver hardware (both trending for winter), colorful stacked sneakers, and a cozy sweater draped around your shoulders.

Katey’s Look
I am loving this 70s inspired wide leg jean! The flare is pretty pronounced on this pair of wide leg denim… So utilize pumps, a heeled bootie, or a platform sneaker like I have done here to elongate the legs. Add a ribbed crop sweater and neutral/metallic accessories for an elevated casual winter look!

Heather’s Look
Classic meets trendy…. I love a classic white button-up shirt paired against a pair of trendy jeans! The high low hem on this button-up blouse gives it something extra special… Keep your accessories neutral!

I love the look of an oversized blazer paired with a cropped sweatshirt and wide leg jeans. Add some unexpected accessories, like a baseball hat, a belt with etched hardware, and silver slingbacks to add a but of edge to your look!
