How We Shop The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It’s that time of year again – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale began yesterday for Icon members… Which means that we got to do something really special! We traveled to New York to check the sale out for our clients. And boy did we have a great experience. Now that we have been consistently and thoroughly shopping the NSale for ourselves and clients for several years now, we have really figured out the best strategies for tackling it. Today, we are going to be talking about how we shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so that when the sale opens to your card status or to the public on July 15, you are prepped and ready!

We now have a pretty specific strategy in place for shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for our clients (and well ourselves hah). We know the key categories we are focusing on, as well as our go-to brands we can count on to have fantastic pieces year over year. More on our favorite brands later… Today, we are going to talk about the main categories of pieces we always shop in the sale: denim, shoes (specifically, sneakers and booties), jackets and coats, and sweaters. And a very important tip for you from experienced NSale shoppers… If you see something you love and it’s sold out, KEEP TRYING! As the first wave of shoppers receive their items and begin making their returns, many times items will become available again!

Denim

DENIM is a key component to how we shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The NSale is the perfect time to refresh your denim for fall at AMAZING prices. So many of our favorite brands put their go-to jeans in the sale, including Mother, Pistola, Rag & Bone, and Madewell to just name a few. Below are our most favorite pairs of jeans from our shopping day at the NYC Nordstrom!

Sneakers & booties

If you have been following along with us for any length of time, you know that we love us some sneakers. And sneakers are one of the items we most look forward to shopping at the NSale each year! Each of our team members ends up buying at least two pairs every year…. And some more than that, but we aren’t here to name names hah! It’s a great opportunity to freshen up your sneaker collection for fall or to splurge on a brand you might not normally buy from. Here are a handful of our favorite sneakers in the sale. It was admittedly hard to choose – we could do a whole post JUST on sneakers! But these are the pairs we either bought ourselves or were able to vet in store.

We know what you guys might be thinking… It is HOT and who wants to buy a coat or jacket right now?! Well, we get it…. But remember that this sale is for fall and early winter merchandise, and the the opportunities abound when it comes to jackets and coats, which of course can be quite pricey full price. So, if you can bring yourself to think ahead, you could save yourself some money on some really great pieces.
