It is TIME to bid adieu to winter and usher in spring! Please? Sometime soon? Seriously though, we are ALL ready to experience the joys of spring already – sunshine, warmer weather, colorful landscapes, and SPRING CLOTHES! As I sit here writing this blog, it is absolutely pouring outside – AGAIN. And I cannot stop thinking about how ready I am to bring on the the short sleeves, sandals, and above all else, color. Speaking of color, let’s look at one of the big trends of the season…. Keep reading for our most recent spring trend update: solar colors!
Spring Trend Update: Solar Colors
What are solar colors? Solar colors are those sunny shades in the yellow and orange color families, like marigold, bronze, amber, and gold. So many of us love these colors, but sometimes shy away from wearing them because, well, we don’t know how!
Guys, a word on yellow. We do hear from clients very often that they are nervous to wear yellow, or that yellow simply doesn’t work on their skin tone. But no matter your coloring or skin tone, there is a yellow that works for you! A couple of tips as it relates to skin tone to consider when choosing a yellow piece… For light to fair skin tones, bolder and more saturated yellows like mustards and dark yellows are most complementary. If you love pastel yellow, that’s so fine, just try the piece on to make sure it doesn’t wash you out. If you are more medium to olive toned, go for the bright and vibrant yellows… And for tan to dark skin tones, you are the lucky ducks – most shades of color will look fabulous on you, including neon yellows.
