Summer Layers

This dress look familiar? If you’ve been following along this summer, you probably saw another post we did a few weeks back where our Nashville Stylist, Katey Preston, was rocking this same dress. We are sharing this fabulous dress again this week, but this time, Katey has styled it a little differently. We mentioned the versatility of this dress a few weeks back, and the fun looks above definitely reiterate that. How great is it to have a piece in your closet that you can wear multiple ways?

In today’s post, however, we want to focus more on the white button down. Katey has used this fun piece to style her dress in a totally different way. We are a big fan of summer layers around here at Effortless Style, and a white button down is a favorite! Even though, the summer temperatures get pretty warm here in Nashville, we do still wear layers this time of year, as there’s nothing worse than walking into an appointment or a lunch meeting and being met with freezing cold temps.

A white button down is seriously such a great summer layering piece. It tends to be a little more lightweight than a jacket or blazer. And you can use it to layer over so many different things. We love how Katey has layered her white button down over her fun summer dress, but we also love one thrown over a basic tank and paired with denim shorts. We’d love to hear from you guys!
