This time of year, we tend to put our dark wash and black jeans to the back of the closet… And instead are reaching for our lighter wash denim, and mostly cropped or ankle length! As more and more of our clients are tending to wear their denim year round, we get lots of questions from clients about what shoes to wear with ankle jeans. We want to share a few thoughts on length when it comes to your ankle jeans. When you are hemming your jeans, aim to have the hem hit at the ankle bone. This goal is to be able to see your entire shoe when you are wearing ankle jeans. And when it comes to sneakers specifically, avoid the hemline of your jeans hitting at your shoelaces. If possible, show some skin between your sneakers and your hemline. Depending on the rise of your sneaker, you can also have the hem of your jeans hit right at the tongue of the shoe, but a clear separation is ideal.
