How To Wear Bold Color This Summer
Summer is in full swing…. And that means it’s time to switch your wardrobe over to match the season we have all been waiting for. On the whole, summer is such a fun season to dress for. We love all the sweet and romantic sundresses, beautiful sandals, and fun accessories… And of course, summer is the season of all the fun textures and bright and happy colors as well! Today, we are chatting with you guys about how to wear bold color this summer. In this blog post, we are doing something special for you guys! We are sharing some of the looks that we have styled for our clients in recent months to give you some especially good style inspiration.
How To Wear Bold Color This Summer Via Colorblocking
Even those of us that aren’t huge wearers of color find ourselves tending towards pops of color this time of year. One of the easiest ways to wear bold color this summer?? COLORBLOCKING of course… As you know, colorblocking is a trend in its own right – a trend you can read more about here. The great thing about colorblocking is that there is something for everyone. If you are leery of making a super bold statement, a great place to start is to pair a solid colored piece with either white or black.
But, if you want to amp it up, you can add some additional bold pattern and/or texture with your accessories!
And of course, you can certainly colorblock two bold colors together!
How To Utilize Prints & Patterns
If you adore all things color, you most likely aren’t leery of introducing some pattern into your look as well… All three of these looks are fun ways to wear a bold pattern this summer. If your bottom is bold and printed, then keep the top solid and simple.
And if your top is patterned, jeans or denim shorts are without a doubt a good choice. But, you don’t necessarily have to keep your bottom neutral. Depending on how willing to wear bold color you are, you could also pull one of the fun colors in your pattern with a solid short. For example, a red, orange, yellow, or green short or pant would ALL be fabulous here!
Below are a few more examples of fun printed blouses paired with a gorgeous pair of magenta pants! When styling boldly colored pants, you can keep the look more streamlined with a simple two toned pattern like polka dots or stripes. OR, you can introduce even more color with a more complicated floral pattern.
One Of Our Favorite Summertime Staples For Bold Color – The Kimono
A kimono is one of our favorite pieces for the summer season. Not only is it super versatile, but it is also a great way to add some bold color and/or pattern to your summertime look. Kimonos are fabulous paired with jeans, white jeans, denim shorts, or a boldly colored short or pant. You can also layer even more color into your look with the shirt you choose to layer under your kimono.
How To Wear Boldly Colored Tops This Summer
A solid boldly colored top creates an open palette for style creativity. You can of course keep it simple with white jeans, cutoffs, or an olive utility skirt. Or, you can add more color and/or pattern with a fun skirt or pair of shorts.
How To Wear Boldly Colored Shorts & Pants
A pair of shorts in a bright and happy color like turquoise or orange opens up so many possibilities for stylish summer looks. One option is to keep it simple with a white or black top… Alternatively, you can add dimension with a stripe up top… Or of course add a pretty patterned tank… And lastly – how about a denim jacket or a blazer to finish the look off?
