How to Wear a Blazer in Winter

It’s no secret that our team adores blazers! Between all of us, we might just own them all! No seriously though, there are countless ways to wear blazers in the fall, winter and spring months…. Today, we are chatting about some fun “out of the box” ways to wear a blazer in winter. Be sure to check back here in about a month or so. We will be looking at some inspiration for blazers in the spring.

We sourced this textured tweed double breasted blazer for an out of town client recently, and it is stunning. In fact, Katie loved it so much, she decided to purchase one for herself too! One of our favorite style tips with a classic, polished blazer is to pair it with distressed denim. It’s the perfect mix of classic and edgy. Add a heeled bootie for a chic, sophisticated look.

There are obviously so many other ways to wear this blazer! Pair it with dark wash denim, a patterned blouse, and loafers for a sweet and feminine look, or pair it with faux leather ankle pants, animal print heels, and a collar necklace for a little more sass!

The Regent Blazer

J. Crew’s Regent blazer has been a staple for our stylists for years. Both for their own closets, as well for their clients’. We love the Regent’s feminine and fitted silhouette. And that popped collar is something a little different for your blazer collection. We love how Katey threw on her Regent over her otherwise fairly casual look of flared jeans and striped turtleneck to elevate the look!

Of course, this blazer is absolutely perfect for the professional setting, but we chose to give you guys some new and different ideas on wearing a blazer in a more casual setting. Ladies, don’t be afraid to cropped jeans with a heeled shoe or white in the Winter!

Hooded Leather Blazer

A big trend we have seen in the past couple of years is this concept of the hooded blazer. Most hooded blazers have removable hoods…. The hood insert creates a more casual vibe, while removing the hood allows dressier looks to come into play, making this piece extremely versatile.

While the blazer that Sara Elizabeth is wearing is no longer available, it is always possible to recreate this concept with a blazer you already have in your closet by wearing a hoodie underneath. Here are a couple of hoodies that we love for creating that look. Note that both pullover and zip hoodies work for this look!
