Fall Trend Update: Bold Suiting
Suits became a fashion mainstay for women in the early 1980s… And haven’t left the scene yet. In fact, suiting for women is surging big time this fall with new and much bolder designs, fabrics, and colors. Today, we are giving you a fall trend update on bold suiting!
How Suiting For Women Has Changed In Recent Decades
A woman’s suit is not a trend for your seasonal closet, but rather a mainstay staple in your year-round closet that has been around for decades. That said, we did see suits dissipate a bit in the early 2000s as work places moved more towards business casual. However, the suit is a classic and has become once again a must have item for women…. And this time, not just for those working in an office. A good suit has a purpose in every woman’s closet! A suit contains timeless pieces that can be combined and styled countless ways together, or paired with other items you have in your closet as separates. Because of this, suits are no longer just black or navy with traditional silhouettes. In fact, we are seeing some really fun and bold suiting trends!
Fall Trend Update: Bold Suiting
This fall, we are seeing a handful of really fun trends for suiting. The styles, silhouettes, colors, and textures are in general less traditional and more bold. Here are some of the fall trends we are seeing for suits:
- Cropped jackets
- Wide leg, high waisted suit pants
- Mixing and matching your suit separates with other pieces in your closet (e.g. a sweater with suit pants)
- Wider lines or ruffles on the shoulders of jackets
- Boyfriend or oversized jackets
- Bright colors, such as hot pink, royal blue, and lime green
- Unexpected textures, such as faux leather, satin, and corduroy
