Denim Jackets…Part Two
Last week we shared some of our favorite traditional denim jackets with you guys. This week, we are sharing a few more favorites, but these are more of the non-traditional styles. If you have a traditional jean jacket in your closet, wear it all the time, and are looking for another option, there are so many other fun ones to add to your repertoire! Oversized, cropped, white, distressed, puff sleeves…. Let’s look at some of our favorites!
Oversized Denim Jackets
We love a good oversized jean jacket! The key to pulling off this look is to pair it with a slimmer fit top and bottom, or a slimmer fit dress, both of which will offset the slouchier jacket.

Admittedly, this first light wash oversized denim jacket is pricey, but we love the Anine Bing brand! And even though this is a slouchier piece, it still gives off a very traditional vibe! Which means you can enjoy this investment piece for years to come.
Anthropologie carries another denim brand that we have come to adore: Pilcro. We love their Boyfriend Trucker jacket. A bit oversized, this one also still takes on a very traditional vibe!
ABLE is a wonderful brand based here in Nashville. We love everything about their products – so well made, and support a great cause (learn more about this company’s mission here). ABLE’s Merly jacket is one of our absolute faves when it comes to an oversized jean jacket. The fabric is like butter, the wash is a great go-to hue, and the distressing adds just the right vibe to this slouchy jacket.
The Cropped Jacket
We are loving the cropped denim trend, especially with as many high waisted pieces as we are seeing these days. To successfully pull the cropped look off, pair it with any high waisted bottom, or with a dress. If the dress has a waistband, just be cognizant of where it sits in relationship to the bottom of the jacket!

This first jacket is a traditional cropped trucker, with just a hint of a nod to the puff sleeve trend. Such a fun cropped option, and we are really liking the sleeve detailing on this one.
We fell in love with this cropped light wash jacket by Tuckernuck the instant we saw it. It also incorporates one of our favorite current trends – the puff sleeve! This jacket is just so romantic, feminine, dreamy…. In case you are in the market for a different wash, this beauty comes in several different options!
This two toned blacked cropped denim jacket by Allsaints is just so fabulous. A great, trendy addition to your denim jacket collection for something a bit different!
Love this cropped jacket by Pistola… The stars add a fun whimsical vibe, and the frayed hem adds a bit of edginess!
Another fun, casual take on the cropped jacket – this one by Free People. Love the hood on this one! This one would be SO cute paired with a feminine dress and sneakers, or joggers, a tank, and sneakers!
White Denim Jackets
A white denim jacket is a really fun way to transition your Spring wardrobe towards Summer. We get lots of questions from clients on how to style a white denim jacket, so we are going to do a separate blog post for you guys on that next week. You cannot go wrong with the Kut From The Kloth and the AG Robyn traditional trucker jackets we mentioned in our original post! And both of those come in a white option!
Another fabulous piece by ABLE is the Marissa white cropped trucker. We love the frayed hem on this one! It offsets the traditional style of the jacket so nicely!
This TopShop cropped, slouchy white denim jacket is so fabulous if you are looking to deviate from the traditional trucker just a bit but don’t want to go too crazy!
Distressed Denim Jackets
A few of the pieces we showed above have a bit of distressing or a frayed hem here and there, but are overall fairly traditional. If you are looking for an even edgier vibe with more distressing, here are some good choices!
