Distressed Denim Shorts

Ladies, you have to be “Ripped” Van Winkle if you haven’t realized this denim trend is here for the long haul. I absolutely love the distressed denim jean look. I often get asked by women of all ages …..is it wrong for me to wear ripped denim at my age? The answer is a resounding NO GIRL! Rock you’re denim!  It’s a totally acceptable trend that isn’t leaving anytime soon. A great length for your body, as shown in the photo’s of Jenny, our Murfreesboro stylist, is the way to go. In the words of  our favorite weatherman Ron Burgundy, “keep it classy San Diego”!

I don’t know about you guys but I am temperature sensitive! Having a lightweight kimono is perfect for the hotter days. They are especially good for when you are inside to protect you from the ac. When you’re outside it’s not too heavy and it’s airy enough for wind to flow through. It also helps to protect your skin, and with the right top underneath, you can always take off and wear around your neck as a lightweight scarf.

There are so so many places to wear this look that our stylist Jenny is wearing! With this gorgeous lightweight kimono, and a solid tee or tank, you can really dress this up or down. Jenny is wearing beautiful larger gold earrings. She has paired these with some stylish dressier flat sandals and a beautiful clutch for a more polished look.

During the week this is a great outfit for school functions, lunch with the ladies or work coffee meetings. It’s also good for just plain old being out and about and looking like a rockstar!

If you are going somewhere more casual, or like more of a boho look, you can throw on a mix of beaded bracelets and mix in some leather or suede cuffs and maybe a fringe earring. You could even add a great head wrap or head band. Finish the look with a pair of little suede booties or even a leather flip flop. Here in Nashville you can wear this to a weekend lunch or brunch, or even a concert. I’m thinking the lawn at Ascend would be great, a Sounds baseball game and dinner afterwards or a honkey tonk pub crawl would be fun. Oh and Pilgrimage Fest is coming up!! Even a good old fashioned neighborhood porch night would be a perfect venue for this outfit. Fashionable but not too extra!

Beauty shows when you are confident and feel good in what you are wearing.

Don’t forget to follow our stylists for more great fashionable rockstar looks!
