Not only that, they are an inexpensive way to jazz up your everyday wear at home or to send someone you love some happy mail. So let’s dive into some of our favorite hair accessory trends!
Fun Hair Accessories

We are loving the subtle take on zebra print for a headband (top left). These colors are so “springy” and pleasing. If you haven’t yet jumped on the headband wagon, this is a great way to do it.
The blues in the second headband (top right) are just stunning – such a fun way to spice up your simple white t-shirt and jeans. With its colorful pattern and wider sides, this headband functions as more of a statement piece.
Of course, we couldn’t talk about headbands without mentioning the quintessential tortoise option (bottom left) from J. Crew. Simple, classic, and traditional, this is an all-around winner!
If you aren’t afraid of a little dazzle, we LOVE the tried and true option from Anthro in the bottom middle slot. The jewels sit flat on the headband and add a fun bit of sparkle. This piece draws countless compliments each time we wear it!
And for our most avid, girlie girl headband wearers out there…. Anthropologie has the best selection of knockout bejeweled headbands on the market. We love the soft blue paired with pearls, neutral sequins, and rhinestones on this stunner!

A hot trend in the fun hair accessories department we are seeing right now is barrettes tucking a bit of hair back from the face near the temple – this can be done on either side of your part. If you are curious and want to try this trend, we love these oval hair barrettes (top left) as a starter set. They are subtle and come in several different color palettes so that there is a great choice for all hair colors.
If you don’t mind a bit more embellishment, we also love this sweet beaded set (bottom left) from Madewell. They have the perfect amount of color and interest to sweep your hair away from your ear with!
THE perfect brushed gold barrette (bottom middle) for all ages… and all hair colors, lengths, and styles! A simple and effective way to elevate your look for the day.
Love the circular brushed gold barrette that gives a peek of your hair in the center. This piece gives the illusion of a complicated hair pin without the difficulty of making it work. Simply snap the barrette closed for a sophisticated look! And it also comes in J. Crew’s signature tortoise as well!

These hair ties (top left) from Lulu Lemon are definitely simple, but oh-so-pretty in the hair. They are a fun way to give a little feminine spark to your pony tail or messy bun.
These bow hair ties from J. Crew are oh so cute and feminine. They sit so well in that pony tail or bun, adding just a little something special to make you feel more put together.
Love this floral scrunchie with a simple tie from J. Crew. The pop of color is so fun for spring and summer – a simple way to jazz up your summer uniform of shorts and t-shirt!
Hair Scarves
Nothing says Spring- or Summer-time like a scarf tied in your hair. Add a scarf to your pony tail or tie it like a headband around your head. We love the cheerful colors in this Kate Spade set for Spring and Summer!
This Madewell bandana can function as more than a neck scarf. Tie it over your pony tail holder. Or tie it like a headband with the tie peeking out at the nape of your neck or with a bow on top of your head. Either way, you will be cute as can be!
