Fun Summer Shorts…Under $50
We are continuing our blog series on ‘summer essentials on a budget’ with our favorite fun summer shorts under $50. If you are looking for some new shorts for summer, keep reading for some super fun finds! Sidenote: We couldn’t narrow it down to 5, so we decided to share extra fabulousness with you!
Fun Summer Shorts…Under $50
Number Six – Aerie has some fabulous shorts right now – we particularly have our eye on the Beach And Beyond line (and may or may not have a couple pairs on the way in the mail as we speak)! Admittedly, these shorts are on the shorter side, as are most at Aerie, but if you like a short on the shorter side, these are absolutely worth checking out! They are cool and comfortable and come in so many fun patterns! These shorts are regularly $34.95, but currently on sale for $26.21.
Number Five – Madewell is of course one of our go-to places to shop for shorts for our clients. Their clothes are on point, well made, and reasonably priced, and this pair of shorts is no exception. The colors are bright and cheerful, and the length is a bit longer than many shorts you will see out there right now…. Even though we love us some shorter shorts, we also always do recommend that our clients have a “longer” short option in their closet, no matter your age or stature. These shorts retail for $49.50.
Biker Shorts 8″ | Biker Shorts 7″
Number Four – Biker shorts are HUGE this season – we know this concept seems a little out there to many, but trust us, once you get out of your box and wear them once, you will want to wear them over and over! We happen to know and love these amazing bike shorts by Baleaf. You can purchase on Amazon and have in two days. We typically recommend the 8” (which retails for $23.99) to our clients, but if you are petite, they also have a 7” option (which retails for $25.99)! Number Three – We of course couldn’t make a list of reasonably priced shorts without including J. Crew’s tried and true chino short. Classic and well made, these shorts are a no brainer and have been around forever and for good reason. Depending on your preference and stature, you can choose from a 4”, 5”, 7”, or 10” inseam. We tend to suggest the 4” for most of our clients. There are so many pretty colors to choose from – white, Nantucket red, pink, olive, navy, etc. This pair of shorts is a great classic piece to have in your closet for years to come, and it retails for $49.50.
Number Two – We are constantly on the hunt for that next fabulous pair of denim shorts that won’t break the bank, and let us just say…. Target for the major WIN! We highly recommend that you check out the Universal Threads line for all things denim shorts, and well….honestly maybe all the things. This pair of distressed hem denim shorts run true to size, are fairly structured with a bit of stretch, and feature a great length that results in the perfect balance of pulling off shorter shorts without revealing too much. And the retail for $17.99.
Tie Waist Shorts (Black & Teal) | Gold Patterned | Leopard Print
Number One – These Target tie waist shorts are a go-to for us and our clients – they are comfortable and cool but give off an elevated shorts vibe. These shorts are the perfect length, well made, and of course you cannot beat the price. They come in several fabulous colors and patterns (a few of which are currently sold out, but if you keep checking back, you might get lucky!). And they retail for $19.99.
BONUS – These shorts weren’t on our “official” list because they aren’t under $50 regularly…. BUT, they are currently on sale at J. Crew for $45 (regularly $79.50), so we just had to share them with you as a bonus pair! We love the mixture of reds, pinks, gold, and black in this floral pattern…. absolutely beautiful.
