GUYS! We’ve had a little secret up our sleeve for a few weeks! And we’ve been bursting at the seams to tell you! We’re adding a new stylist to the Effortless Style team: Atlanta Stylist April Beaupre! That’s right–we’re crossing state lines yet again. This time into Georgia to spread our fashion philosophy and services to a few more folks.
You may remember our last team addition was Dallas-based stylist Heather Pujol-Cuffee in November 2016. Having Heather on the team has been game-changing. In addition to her personal awesomeness, her ability to communicate fashion content is outstanding, and we see many of these great qualities in April, too. We wanted you to have the opportunity to love April as much as we do. Check out the Q&A with April below!
How did you get started in fashion styling?
For as long as I can remember, I would spend hours online and at malls looking at clothes and shoes and think and share which one of my friends would look best in the clothing I came across that day! I also just love fashion and trends and being open-minded about trying new looks for me and friends. While traveling to other international cities, Milan, Florence, Barcelona and Nice, I always loved to check out the local fashion and pick up great stylish pieces that reflected the trends in that country.
What is the best thing a client has said after working with you?
“I always feel good when I’m around you. You are so easy to talk to, and I really enjoy our time together.” Short and sweet, and totally affirming to hear. I love helping people feel good about themselves. Confidence will always shine through in your personality.
What is your educational and professional background?
I have a BA in advertising and worked in cable and internet advertising for 10 years, helping to shape internet advertising with Yahoo in its early days and MTV and Discovery Channel before that. These corporate environments allowed me to be part of a team, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and to help clients reach their goals by expressing my creativity.
In addition to that, I have been an active volunteer for several civic and philanthropic organizations over the years, including school boards, our neighborhood HOA board, the Rally for Childhood Cancer Research fundraiser, and others. I thrive on interaction with people, and I’m so excited to channel this passion into fashion as a member of the Effortless Style team.
How would your BFF describe you?
I hope she would say that I live life to the fullest, surround myself with friends and family that I love, and remain energetic and compassionate. I am outgoing, gregarious and enjoy creating a positive environment for others. To me, being successful is really all about supporting each other in our life goals and passions.
How would you describe your personal style?
My style is contemporary, fashion-forward, sporty, and colorful. I am open-minded and experiment with a broad range of trendy and modern styles. In the summer, you’ll find me in a classic pair of jeans with a funky top, or in a fun, bright patterned short with a cute top or a dress.
Who are some of your favorite designers/brands?
I like a broad range of designers, including Calvin Klein, Max Mara, Vince Camuto, and Deletta. I love to shop at Anthropologie or Nordstrom for a unique piece to pair with a modern piece from J. Crew, Banana Republic, or INC brand. Some of my favorite (and most comfortable!) jeans are Joe’s Jeans, but also love my Hudsons and AGs.
What is one item of clothing every woman should own?
A great-fitting, comfortable pair of jeans with a fantastic give that you just love, because you will wear them all the time.
What would surprise us about you?
That I am super athletic! Fashion isn’t my only obsession. I am an avid tennis player and make time each week to squeeze in a match and practice. My week isn’t complete without my Friday yoga class to clear my mind and body of the week’s stresses. Also, I love leopard print everything, and I’ve appeared on MTV three times!
