Summer is {almost} *officially* here… We don’t know about you guys, but we are very much ready for a slower pace, longer days outdoors, and hopefully some fabulous trips. It’s also time to think about fully transitioning your closet to summer. Katie is sharing some of her current favorite items if you are looking for some ideas for new pieces to freshen things up. We actually found this boyfriend cut button-up shirt when we were rounding up some of our favorite items for spring at Express for a recent blog post. And I fell in love with it and have been wearing it on repeat! You guys know that one of my favorite looks is a button-up shirt and distressed jeans. This is a look that I wear through the summer with sandals. But this piece would also be cute with denim cutoff shorts, or a pair of dressier shorts in a fun color!
Nordstrom has partnered with ASOS and is now carrying some ASOS pieces! And this dress is one of my favorites in that collection. It’s a fun option for summer weddings for sure. I plan on ordering this dress to give it a try for a wedding I am attending in September.
You guys know how much I love my blazers. And even though it is hot, summer is NO exception. I saw this blazer by Vici at Nordstrom when shopping for a client the other day and fell in love with it. The linen blend is perfect for the hot days of summer when you still need to present a bit more professionally for your day! This blazer comes in several other colors, including powder blue, white, and pink.
A Few More Favorites For Summer
It’s so funny to say this after all of the years of joking about them. But you guys, I am all about a fanny pack right now! We evidently now call them “belt bags” which makes them automatically cooler. No seriously though. The styles are so much better than they used to be back in the 80’s and 90’s. And at this point, I am fully embracing this trend! I just got back from a family vacation and wore mine as a crossbody everywhere I went. I am loving this pearl metallic one I recently saw… Seriously considering adding another one to my collection.
I have had my eyes on this thong sandal…. And lo and behold, Katey shared it as her pick of the week this week! Great minds think alike! This shoe comes in a handful of colors, but I am loving the idea of the tan leather version for my closet. I love to have at least one pair (and usually more LOL) of tan leather sandals for summer. They go with literally everything and are so easy to grab and go. The gold buckle detailing on these definitely gives them an elevated look!
I am about to order this workout/yoga set from Amazon to try. I am loving the look of this! It will be so great to have this in my closet for summer. And possibly inspire me to hop on my Peloton!
