Wearing White {Denim} After Labor Day

Ladies, as you begin to transition your closet to fall, PLEASE do not put your white denim away. So many of us, especially here in the southeast, were taught the old adage “no white denim after Labor Day.” Guess what? That whole concept is a thing of the past, and we couldn’t be happier about it because it means we can enjoy our white denim year around!

The key to enjoying your white denim into fall is to pair it with fall tones. Think rust, olive green, camel, grey…. You get the drift.  As far as shoes are concerned, it is totally fine to wear open toed or even sandals into September with your white jeans, but ensure that they too play into the fall hues. Think browns, animal prints, snakeskin….

White Denim After Labor Day

We love these wide leg cropped jeans by Madewell….  They are so versatile and have a super fun, playful feel to them!

For a casual look, pair them with a fun graphic tee – even one from your summer closet would work just fine as long as it isn’t too “summery.” Steer away from beaches, sunshine, pineapples, etc. though, as well as any super summery hues, such as turquoise, coral, neon pink, etc. In fact, we love this particular color palette for early fall…. The grey tones with pops of yellows and oranges are so perfect for September! Add a pretty belt and some sneakers, and you are casually put together for running around town. To take it up just a notch, we love the idea of wearing some fun mules with a pattern like these snake skin beauties… Mules are the perfect fall shoe because they don’t look quite as summery as a sandal, but they allow your feet to breathe a bit when it’s still relatively hot outside.

Even though these white jeans have a fun and whimsical feel, you can also dress them up a bit more depending on what you have going on. Transitioning White Distressed Denim into Fall

Distressed white jeans are SO fun. Perfect in the summer with tanks and tees for a super casual vibe, but also so fabulous for fall!  One way that we absolutely love to wear our distressed white denim after Labor day is to create a very classic, tailored look on top to offset the edgy vibe of the distressing on the jeans.

We love the idea of a muted camel tone top with white denim in the fall. It creates a soft, tone on tone look that is just so gorgeous. These two sweaters from J. Crew are both so classic and beautiful and offset the distressed jeans in such a fun way!  Continue the classic tone with some pretty woven mules. Again, love these for early fall because they look seasonally appropriate but keep your feet relatively cool! Another soft tone-on-tone look we love for fall is white jeans with a grey color palette. For a classic yet edgy casual look, pair your distressed jeans with J.
