One shoulder dresses are very much on trend this season. And so is black and white (for more on this trend, reference our recent blog post on this trend). We love this feminine and fun take on a floral party dress that is perfect for a mid- or late-afternoon wedding celebration. Keep your accessories simple and let the gorgeous dress do the talking! Thoughts On A Timeless Shift Dress
Shift dresses have been around for decades. And there is reason for that. They are timeless and look wonderful on most body types and shapes. The lace detailing on this shift dress is perfect for a summer wedding. This dress works for both an afternoon or evening event! You could dress this one down a bit with a lower heeled sandal and a bag that isn’t beaded for an afternoon wedding.
Let’s talk about color for a moment. Wearing color to a wedding is perfectly acceptable – you do not have to wear black or navy! It is of course important to “know your crowd” and understand the vibe of the event when choosing a bright color for a wedding. We do encourage our clients to be intentional about wearing a boldly patterned dress to a wedding (and in some cases, that is just great!). But in most cases, a solid brightly colored dress is perfectly fine! This coral colorway is so sweet and has the perfect summer vibe.

What To Wear To An Evening Wedding
A black jumpsuit is sophisticated, classic, and a fun alternative to a cocktail or formal dress. And a solid black jumpsuit is also a blank slate to have some fun with accessories. Color is huge this season, and we love how the turquoise in the earrings and clutch pops against the black. You could also do a shoe in a fun colorway with this jumpsuit… But in that case, consider having your earrings or clutch be gold or black. In other words, pick two accessories for your statement of color and have the third be understated.
