Three Ways To Wear Leather Pants
We have been talking about leather and faux leather pants a lot this fall. In fact, we have talked about it so much that there is no real need to re-hash it! Needless to say, we are loving this trend! Let’s keep it simple and look at three (+) ways to wear leather pants!
Three Ways To Wear Leather Pants
As we mentioned above, we’ve been talking about leather and faux leather a lot this fall. And that is for two reasons. First, it is a huge trend. And second, we love it! In fact, we included coated/faux leather jeans in our Fall Capsule. And as we worked with them, we realized… They are surprisingly easy to style in some rather unexpected ways! From a casual outing like running errands to a date night out and everything in between, they are a great choice. And oh so comfortable. Pair leather pants with a tee shirt, sweater, blazer, blouse, dressy top, or suede or (YES) leather jacket. So let us say…. If you want to add one especially versatile piece to your fall and winter closet, this would for sure be it. To read more about this trend, check out a recent blog post we did here.
Now, let’s take a look at some styled outfits with leather pants. To start things off, let’s take a look at an elevated casual look. We love the mixture of color and texture in this look. The wool camel sweater offset by the black leather pants is just a showstopper concept. Keep the accessories clean and simple with a look like this. If you are wondering about mixing browns and blacks, there is a bit more on that later in the blog post!

Another Fun Way To Style Your Leather Pants
There are several things to chat about in the look below. First, paperbag waist pants. We love this silhouette, and even more so in this faux leather! Clients ask us all the time about paperbag waist pants and shorts. Many times, clients need a little help styling them because the waistline on the silhouette is so specific. This is a style that looks fantastic on most body types… The key is to wear a top that is either a streamlined silhouette or more form fitting. This allows you to show off the waist of the pant. It also prevents creating volume or lumpiness from a top that hangs over the tie at the waist.
This look also demonstrates another concept we get asked a lot about… Specifically, how to wear brown and black together! Brown and black is one of our most favorite style combinations for fall and winter. The key is simple. Don’t overthink it! Just go for it. Camel and black – yes. Whiskey and black – yes. Cognac and black – yes! Just shy away from shades of brown that have a large amount of black in them, and you are good to go.

Wearing Leather Pants For A Dressy Night Out
And now for the dressiest of the looks in Three Ways To Wear Leather Pants. This pair of leather pants is the Colette from Anthropologie. This particular style is a go-to for us and our clients. And we were most certainly thrilled when we saw that they released them in faux leather this season! Two things on this look. It is of course a fabulous example of how to really elevate your leather pants for a dressy night out! But it also shows how to pair a very classic top with your edgy leather pants. We love a good high low look, and this is definitely that!
