Everyday Fall Capsule Wardrobe

The capsule wardrobe…. A concept that has been circulating around the fashion industry since the 1940s. There is a reason the concept has stood the test of time… A streamlined wardrobe – and closet – takes the stress out of getting dressed each day. There is something truly magical about walking into your closet. Peacefully choosing your clothing items without trying on a dozen things, and continuing on with your day. Such an effortless process!

The term capsule wardrobe refers to a small collection of timeless clothing pieces. Pieces that are complementary in color and that work together to create countless looks for a season. Capsule wardrobes simplify your closet and help to make getting dressed each day enjoyable rather than overwhelming. Once a foundational capsule wardrobe is in place, you can layer in a few “trendier” clothing pieces and accessories to keep your look current, if you so choose.

The capsule wardrobe can vary depending on your lifestyle. But in general it’s meant to be versatile enough to see you through your varying activities in a typical week. Whether that be work meetings, running errands, lunch with friends, sitting at the ball field, date night, or anything in between. Because so many of our followers and clients either stay at home with children or are now working from home given the current environment, we decided to put together two different capsules – one for those that spend most of their day at home or running around town, and one for those that work in an office or lead a dressier lifestyle in general.
