The Fourth of July falls during the week this year, so even if you just get one day to celebrate the holiday you can still look cute doing it. Our clients need a variety of outfits for this particular holiday, because they’re doing everything from boating on the lake or going out downtown for fireworks, to a quiet hang with friends in the backyard. And we thought you might use “what to wear” ideas for similar occasions.
We pulled a few pieces with this in mind, playing up red, white, and blue color options to stay on theme, but also found some neutrals that look great in the patriotic mix for a more subtle style.
DRESSES: FIREWORKS NOT INCLUDED
You are guaranteed to turn heads in any one of these dresses, and we can’t help but see them on a swanky downtown rooftop with fireworks in the distance. (Our stylist Katey Preston owns this middle one, and it’s so cute on her!) See our shoe recommendations below for dressing up or down.
ONE-PIECES: CHILDHOOD THROWBACK
Remember when you were a kid, and it was so easy to get dressed? No over-thinking or difficult fits. We miss it, too! Jumpsuits and rompers are the adult version of throw-on-and-go but with grown-up class. Pants or shorts, these can get you effortlessly from waterside to table side.
TOPS & BOTTOMS: COMPLEMENTARY COORDINATES
There’s nothing more American than a t-shirt and jean shorts on the Fourth of July. We chose these three tops because they are comfy basics, but also have an interesting detail that makes them unordinary. And we are loving camo print as a neutral this summer. Think of these tops and shorts as mix and match…all interchangeable with each other and perfectly paired.

SHOES: FINISHING TOUCHES
Shoes are a practical way to dress an outfit up or down, so we’ve picked a spectrum of designs from sneakers to heels. These red knit sneakers, for example, would add a cute tomboy flair to the Mcgolrick Dress (Club Monaco) above, or keep it casual with a t-shirt and shorts.
