Today we are talking New Year’s Eve looks. And what better images to tie this post back too! We are loving Katie Rushton’s stunning all black look from earlier in the holiday season! An all black New party look is sophisticated and timeless. We love how Katie mixed textures with this look by pairing one of her go-to black sweaters with a faux leather skirt (this one that she’s wearing is our favorite one out there right now). Katie’s statement earrings add an element of eye catching glamour for an overall seamless look.
Monochromatic looks are just gorgeous across all occasions, from running errands around town to cocktail parties, and everything in between. We thought we would share some tips with you for putting together monochromatic looks for your upcoming New Years festivities. We’ve put together some fun looks in both all black and all winter white!
All Black New Year’s Eve Looks
For a dressy casual New Years Eve gathering, this silky button down is on trend! The metallic detailing takes a simple black blouse up a notch in a subtle and fun way! Half tuck the blouse into a pair of coated black denim to take your “jeans and blouse” look to the next level. Throw on a pair of black heels and some earrings with a bit of sparkle. You are ready to ring in the New Year! Tip – consider investing in a good pair of black suede heels for a dressier vibe than just leather…. You will find yourself reaching for them again and again over the years!
If you are attending a dressier New Years Eve soiree but sequins aren’t your thing, a lace top is the perfect option for you. Timeless and classic, a lace top is a wonderful piece to always have in your closet. We love this tie neck lace top in black! Pair it with wide leg black slacks like this pair from Anthro. The wide flare leg of this pant allows you to show off a fabulous pair of shoes like these oh so fun calf hair pumps. Add in a whimsical statement piece around the ears with some fun earrings, like these star pearl and crystal drops!
Winter White NYE Looks
On to another one of our all-time favorite monochromatic color ways – winter white. There is something so pleasing and sophisticated about a winter white monochromatic look! We recommend everyone try it at some point soon. We know that it can be tricky, so we are excited to show you two monochromatic New Year’s Eve looks to get your creative juices flowing. The key is to keep it simple, not overthink it, and not get too “matchy matchy”… Mixing different hue variations of the same color family adds dimension and interest!
For your dressy casual New Years Eve party, pull out your favorite white denim – yes, you heard us, white denim in late December! Add in a silky blouse in white, cream, silver, or blush pink – bonus points for some sparkle for New Years Eve. We love this short sleeve silky blouse with a subtle sequin pattern. Half tuck your blouse to show off a bit of your favorite neutral belt like this gold stretch belt with a fun buckle (added bonus about a gold belt is it goes with everything year round!). Add in a simple nude heel or ankle sandal and simple gold earrings, and you are sure to stun while ringing in 2020! Instantly elevate this look for a dressier get together by replacing the white denim with winter white slacks. We love these slim side zip pants with a bit of stretch for year round wear!
If you love leggings, these sueded metallic leggings are amazing! You can dress these up or down throughout the Winter and early Spring…. And for a New Years Eve gathering, they are on point. Pair them with a winter white turtleneck sweater for a beautiful (and added bonus, comfortable) look for a long night of festivities celebrating the new decade. For a glitzy party look, wear some fabulous statement earrings and heels with shimmer!
No matter what your plans are for New Years Eve, we wish you a happy new year filled with blessings and prosperity!
