If you live in the Nashville area, you know that we were basically experiencing spring throughout the month of December…. And then abruptly went to several snow storms in a row and frigid temps for the forseeable future (OK, Chicago followers, don’t laugh at us hah). The true arrival of winter has one of our favorite accessories top of the mind…. You guessed it, winter coats!
In today’s post, we are going to take a look at some of our favorite winter coats. Whether you’re having a casual day of running errands, a night out with the girls, or a business luncheon, you will need one…. Well, who are we kidding, MORE than one, fabulous winter coats. What better way to look forward to a freezing day than pulling out one of our cute jackets – are we right?
Winter Styling Tips: Casual/Everyday Coats
When choosing a casual puffer, try and find one that isn’t TOO thick and for lack of a better word, puffy. The good news is, puffers have come a long way in recent years, and it is no longer necessary to stay warm and cozy in one while looking like a marshmallow! Here is one of our favorite puffer jackets that comes in black and navy…. And you won’t be sad about the price either!
Teddy coats have become increasingly popular, and their styles keep getting better and better. Plus, it is the perfect coat for being casual and comfortable, but oh so cute! When looking for a teddy coat – a style of coat that tends to be oversized – just pay careful attention to the fit of the coat. Don’t let its oversized cut swallow you. Similarly, you will want a faux fur that isn’t TOO furry or thick to ensure a more streamlined, flattering look. This piece from Banana Republic is so gorgeous – and comes in petite sizes, which is such a bonus!

A tailored coat is always going to be appropriate and chic. Choosing a lighter color, such as blush, camel, or powder blue will really lighten up your look!
